The
Charlie’s Angels trio, Brooke Shields, and Oprah have her
handmade
mosaic photo albums, she did invitations for Taye Diggs, designed
the flowers for Talisa Soto and Benjamin Bratt, and she’s doing upcoming weddings
for Molly Shannon and Elizabeth Banks. There’s a reason why chic,
young Hollywood is turning to Joanne Gartin’s Love Luck and Angels
to design their wedding, bridal or baby showers. Quite simply, everything
she touches is both beautiful and hip. "There’s the way you’ve
seen things done before and then there’s the way jo does it." Best
known for her clean, minimal, modern meets Balinese look, Jo will add her
touch to even the smallest detail. Using her favorite—bamboo and
pressed orchids (Cymbidiums are her favorite), Jo often creates an entire
mood with the simplest touch.
Years of traveling as a model, has given Jo’s designs an international
flair. She’s used an imported bamboo runner as an aisle treatment;
she loves handmade papers, and silk lanterns from Thailand. One of her
favorite touches was a bright red, handmade maraca from Nicaragua, personalized
with the bride and groom’s names.
A lot of organizers plug the client into the mold of
their previous events. Jo designs each of her events
in a way that captures the taste, style and
personality of the individual client, while maintaining her own creative,
non-traditional approach. "Just because it’s a baby shower,
doesn’t mean it can’t be cool and sexy, with a hip design theme." |
